two hardcover books, 46pp each, video projection
8 x 10 inches each
A series of tiny moving images are projected into specially produced books. Like an explorer’s notebooks or sketchbooks, they show the film as an open-ended unfolding and a constant process of discovery, wandering, and surprise.
The two books are designed to be presented together to create micro screening environments for the film footage. Imagery and text from one book spread is often completed in the corresponding pages of the second book. When the books are placed together in different arrangements -- one folded open and the other standing behind it, or nested together in a four-panel screen, for instance -- the interaction of the page-environments with the video footage completes the film work.
